Satine Kryze was the pacifistic leader of the planet Mandalore, for a time having the devotion of the New Mandalorians that desired a break from their brutally violent past as a people. An ambitious and powerful woman, Satine drew the attention--and the ire--of powerful enemies. Having a past with Jedi Master Obi-wan Kenobi, she also maintained alliances with high-profile members of the Galatic Senate including Orn Free Taa, Kin Robb, and Padmé Amidala. She was targeted by the members of House Vizsla due to her pacifistic views "dishonoring" the history of Mandalore, Satine soon found herself pushed out of power thanks to Vizsla's alliance with Darth Maul. Seeing Satine as the perfect catalyst for his revenge, Maul allowed her to contact Obi-Wan Kenobi to lure him to Mandalore. In order to have Obi-wan suffered as he had suffered, Maul murdered Satine in front of the Jedi Knight. She died in Obi-wan's arms soon after being impaled by the Darksaber.
Personality: Satine is, above and beyond all things, classified a pacifist. When she first came into power with her clan, it was after her own father died as a casualty of the civil war among the clans of Mandalore. Seeing what the fighting had done to her people, and the losses everyone was forced to her to sustain because of it, made her determined to help Mandalore rise above its tragically bloody past. Her penchant for leadership helped her reshape Mandalore's government to include a cabinet of ministers in addition to her duchess-ship. In the time of her rule, Mandalore saw a period of prosperity unlike any other they have had before or since.
To be a pacifist within a culture that staunchly glorifies violence takes conviction, and it is her adherence to her beliefs that colors Satine's character as well. She is willing to die for the sake of peace if necessary. And while the Clone Wars troubled the government of the Republic, Satine refused to do more than state her planet's loyalty to the government in addition to their lack of antagonism to the Separatists. She was the founding and leading member of the Council of Neutral Systems which argued for the rights of neutral territories within the Senate during the war. However, her blind and somewhat naive adherence to her beliefs can be a fault as well. Her unwillingness to respond to thugs on Mandalore with force and violence allowed Vizsla, Death Watch, and, ultimately, Maul and his crime network to seize control of Mandalore and depose her of her throne.
There is slight hypocrisy to her pacifism as well. While she argues for her people to not give in to violent crime lords and to stray from violence, she still keeps a means of defense on her person. While a deactivator (essentially a stun gun) is nothing akin to a blaster or lightsaber in regards to violent ends, it is still, in some ways, a weapon. In her own words, she says that she may be a pacifist but that does not keep her from defending herself when absolutely necessary. This is a direct contradiction with pacifism in and of itself, as well as with her reaction to Maul and Savage ravaging the streets of Mandalore.
Another element of Satine's character that is relevant to her actions and life is her intelligence and resourcefulness. As a politician, Satine felt that her words, and the words of others, held more power than the violent actions of outright war. Her ability to analyze the field, both politically and tactically, allowed her to develop a gift for public speaking and for rallying people around her in the Senate and elsewhere. On the field of "battle", so to speak, she was able to understand basic programming controls to release Kenobi from a maze of mines where he had become trapped, showing her resourcefulness and basic technological understanding. She also possesses a level of understanding regarding piloting spacecraft, as she offers to take over the controls of Kenobi's ship as he is trying to rescue her from Mandalore--though she ultimately never got the chance as their ship was shot from the sky.
Weaknesses/Temptations: Satine is always one to take what means are necessary for peace and peaceful resolutions, even when they are not well-advised or, indeed, the best course of action. For all her strategizing and intelligence, she can be easily tempted by the offer of peaceful negotiations. Additionally, her attachments and affections for others can see her taking worse paths if it would ensure their protection and benefit.

Network: Hell is not an unknown concept to me or my people, but this certainly does not fit the ideas I have heard and seen. I am quite certain the same can be said for many of you...
While it may seem as though we are rather left to our own devices, for the most part, is it not true that they surround us with the very vices they wish to see us abandon in order for redemption to be achieved? Though perhaps that is their aim. I am sure I'm not the first to notice this either.
Nor, I am sure, am I the first to notice some tensions lying about. Would anyone care to explain how this came to be? Surely there is a guide, a reference of some sort...If there is not, I hope some are seeking to rectify such an oversight.
